A project holds studies grouped by analyte. Every study goes through the same four stages: Set up, Data, Results and Report.

The menu#

The menu stays on the left in a window at least 900 pixels wide. In a narrower window it is behind the Open menu button.

  • Import a file at the top reads a results file and creates the study it fits. See importing a file.
  • Work: Projects opens the workspace home (below). Reports lists every study's report and each saved project report. See the Reports page.
  • Library: Acceptance limits holds your saved sets of limits and the CLIA / CAP table. Saved imports and lot plans holds the column choices and lot plans you saved. See reusing limits.
  • Tools: QC targets (ADM export) turns analyzer QC exports into candidate QC target means. See QC targets (ADM export).
  • Help: User manual opens this manual in a new tab. Try example data loads made-up studies. See example data.
  • Inside a project, the Project list at the top of the project tree switches between projects. Below it are Overview and the project's analytes. Open an analyte to see its studies, each with a mark for its state. Elsewhere the menu shows Recent projects.
  • At the bottom are Trash, Settings and the Workspace menu.

A Viewer's menu has no Import a file, Try example data or Trash. The breadcrumb at the top, for example Projects / Glucose verification 2026 / Glucose / Glucose · repeatability, takes you back up.

Settings#

  • Display and accessibility: how the application looks in this browser (below).
  • Workspace: the workspace name, your role, Switch to this workspace and Create another workspace. An owner or administrator can Rename it.
  • Members: who has access. An owner or administrator can Invite a colleague. See organization roles.
  • Account: your sign-in email, Account and invitations and Sign out.

Display settings#

These choices apply to this browser only. Before you enter a workspace, the account page has the same choices under Display settings.

SettingEffect
ThemeDay (light), Dusk (dark) or System.
Text size, DensityLarger text and controls; Compact or Comfortable spacing.
Legible fontThe Atkinson Hyperlegible typeface, for low vision.
Paper size for PDFsAs stored (default) uses the report's own paper size. Letter or A4 downloads a copy on that paper.

A report always shows in the light Day colors. Text size, density and legible font change how it looks on screen; printouts and PDFs use the standard layout. A black and white copy is under Other downloads in the Report stage.

The Projects page#

All projects lists the most recently saved projects first. Sort it by Project and analytes, Last saved, Studies or Need attention. Select an analyte beneath a project name to open just its studies, or select the attention count to open the studies waiting for work.

Find a project or study searches project names, analytes, study titles, designs, instruments, methods and lots. You can combine words, for example glucose repeatability chemistry 2. Matching studies appear beneath their project with their saved data count, result and next action.

Recently saved shows the three most recently saved studies across projects, including studies whose results are ready to read. Each shows when it was saved, how much data it holds and a link to its next step. Searching hides these shortcuts so the matches stay in focus.

At the top right are New study and New project. From this page New study asks which project, or New project. Import a file and Trash remain in the menu. In a workspace with no projects the page opens on Start a study instead; see choosing a study.

Inside a project#

New study is at the top right. Import a file in the menu imports into the open project. An empty project shows Bring your results with Import a file and Or choose a study first. Once it has studies, the project has two tabs: Overview and Reports.

The Overview tab#

Recently saved gives the last saved study and its next action. Studies lists every study grouped by analyte, most recently saved first within each analyte. Each row keeps the saved title, chosen design, unit, instrument, method and lot together. Designs distinguish reference interval verification from establishment, qualitative agreement from near-cutoff precision, and LoB, LoD and LoQ studies.

Saved progress shows the number of saved rows (entries for sigma) and the save time. Result describes the latest calculation; Signed appears only when that calculation is signed off. Next action takes you straight to the work: Enter data (sigma: Add evidence), Calculate results and Recalculate open Data, Add a limit opens Set up, and Review failed criteria or Review the undecided result opens Results. A study ready to read shows Review results or Open report.

Use search together with Analyte, Study design and Status to narrow the list. Clear filters resets all of them. Status counts reflect the current search, analyte and design. Going Back from a study keeps your search and filters.

  • Need attention shows studies waiting for work (below).
  • Not calculated shows studies with no saved calculation; Results out of date shows studies changed since their calculation.
  • Current results shows calculations that still match the saved data.
  • Not met or undecided looks at the newer of the latest calculation and the latest signed report.
  • With signed-off reports counts any signed report, even one for an older calculation.

Open Project details below the studies for Edit project and, for an owner or administrator, Move to Trash.

The Result column shows one state:

  • Results not calculated yet: no data, or never calculated.
  • Results out of date: data or settings changed after the last calculation.
  • No acceptance criteria set: the last calculation had no limit to compare with. This is not a pass.
  • Not evaluated: a study with nothing to decide, such as derived sigma.
  • Criteria met, Criteria not met or Undecided: see criterion outcomes.

The Reports tab#

Project report puts all of the project's studies in one report (project reports). Study reports lists every calculated study with its result; Signed off reads Signed once the current calculation is signed off.

What "need attention" means#

A study needs attention when:

  • its results are out of date or not calculated;
  • it has no acceptance limit (derived sigma studies are exempt); or
  • its result is not met or undecided, until you sign off that calculation.

Inside a study#

The header shows the title, study type, unit, instrument and date, and stays at the top as you scroll. The four stages are numbered tabs, and you can open any of them at any time. Each tab shows its state: needs input, ready, done or out of date.

  1. Set up: the collection plan, study details, acceptance limits and calculation settings. See study setup.
  2. Data: enter or import results. See entering data.
  3. Results: the saved calculation. See calculating results and reading results.
  4. Report: read, download and print the report, and sign it off if you want the review recorded. See the study report.

Blank template (CSV) and Run this study sit at the top of Set up and Data. The first downloads the study's empty column template; the second opens its guide in this manual.

The main button#

The header has one main button. It names the next thing the study needs:

The studyMain button
has no dataEnter data (sigma: Add entries)
is missing a required settingFinish set up
has no acceptance limitAdd a limit
is ready, or changed since the last calculationCalculate results or Recalculate results
has an undecided result and no sign-offReview results, or Add a limit when a limit is missing
has a current calculationOpen report

Save changes appears beside it while you have unsaved changes. More holds New study from this setup (choosing a study), Restore my edits and Save a copy of my edits (saving), and Move study to Trash (below).

Where a study opens#

A study opens at the stage that needs attention:

The study hasIt opens at
A required setting missing, and no current calculationSet up (sigma: Data, where its values go)
No calculation yet, or changes since the last oneData
A current calculationResults, or Report once it is signed off

A link that names a stage, such as an address ending in ?view=results, opens that stage. Reloading the page or going Back keeps you on the same stage.

Reminders under the tabs name anything missing before the first calculation, such as analyte and unit. A yellow Results out of date banner shows when your data no longer match the saved calculation.

Deleting a study#

Choose More, then Move study to Trash. The study and its reports move to Trash, where Restore brings it back for 30 days. After that it is deleted. If its project is in Trash too, restore the project first. You need the Owner, Administrator or Editor role.

Messages#

  • Red error messages appear next to what caused them and say why something failed. Your entries are kept. In an open study, Save a copy of my edits saves a file of everything in the tab, including unsaved edits.
  • Notices with a check mark confirm what just happened, for example an import.
  • A Viewer sees Read-only access at the top of every page.
