Lab Method Studies plans, calculates and documents method-evaluation studies: precision, bias, method and instrument comparison, reagent lots, linearity, dilution, reference intervals, qualitative agreement, detection limits, carryover, interference, stability and sigma.

We give you the study design, the tools and the evidence behind the calculations. You carry out the study in your laboratory. Each study guide starts with a one-page Run this study plan you can take to the bench. Set your acceptance limits before you start, enter your results, review them and save your report. Validation lists the published references and calculation checks behind each module.

How a study works#

Studies sit inside a project, grouped by analyte. Each study has four stages, shown as numbered tabs:

  1. Set up: the collection plan, the study details and your acceptance limits.
  2. Data: type, paste or import results with Import a file. Original values are kept, and an exclusion needs a reason.
  3. Results: Calculate results saves the result with plots, study notes and the outcome of each limit.
  4. Report: Download PDF or Print. Sign off is optional: it records who reviewed the report.

The project report lists every study's result, grouped by analyte.
