Data & security

How your laboratory’s study records are handled.

Specimen identifiers

Use synthetic or de-identified results with coded specimen IDs. Keep the key in your laboratory. Do not enter patient names, medical record numbers or other protected health information.

Who can see your work

You sign in with an emailed code. Workspace owners and administrators manage membership; editors can work on studies, and viewers can read and download. Each workspace has a separate data store. Service operators can access stored data for maintenance and recovery.

Storage and connections

The primary study data store is hosted in Amsterdam, Netherlands. Browser connections use HTTPS encryption. Study data stays within the service’s hosting and backup systems and is not sent to external AI services.

Backups and retention

A daily backup includes accounts, workspace records, retained imports and saved reports. Copies are checked after upload to separate private storage; the latest 14 verified copies are kept.

Active records remain until removed. Trashed projects and studies can be restored for 30 days, then are deleted on the next workspace use. Earlier copies remain in backups until those backups rotate out.

Keeping your own copy

Owners and administrators can use Settings → Records → Download workspace records to export the workspace’s data, history, imports and saved reports in one ZIP. Keep a copy under your laboratory’s record-retention policy.

Original values, corrections and exclusion reasons stay in the study history. Signed reports retain their saved content. Read about record history.

Privacy

The service stores your email for sign-in and workspace membership, and the study records you save. Hosting and email services process the data needed to operate it. Sign-in cookies maintain your session; browser storage remembers display settings and can retain study edits for recovery on that device.
